Duration: 2 Hours
Ready to try yoga but not sure where your hands, feet, or focus are supposed to go? Yoga from Scratch is a judgment-free, accessible workshop designed specifically for absolute beginners or anyone looking to hit the refresh button on their alignment. Over the course of two hours, we will strip away the intimidation factor and break down the practice from the ground up.
Instead of flowing continuously through a fast-paced sequence, poses are slowed down to dissect the foundational shapes of the practice. This interactive environment gives you the rare opportunity to ask questions, experiment with variations, and really feel the alignment in your body.
Hour 1: The Blueprint (Standing & Core Postures): We will break down the setups, alignment cues, and modifications for standard foundational postures, including the Warrior series, lunges, and Downward-Facing Dog.
Hour 2: The Integration (Transitions, Props, & Floor Work): Learn how to step from pose to pose smoothly without feeling rushed, how to navigate floor postures safely, and how to effectively use blocks, straps, bolsters, and blankets to make the practice fit your unique body.
Please bring your typical yoga class gear to ensure you are comfortable and supported throughout the workshop:
A yoga mat
A water bottle
A hand towel (optional, but helpful)
Props: If you own yoga blocks or a strap, feel free to bring them along! (Otherwise, we will have studio props available for you to use).
Whether you have never stepped foot on a mat, feel a little lost in standard classes, or simply want to ensure your form is solid to prevent injury, this two-hour immersion is your perfect starting point. You will leave with the confidence, muscle memory, and body awareness needed to walk into any regular public class feeling fully prepared
Flexibility is not required, just an open mind and a willingness to learn from the ground up.
